Eight fire engines and around 60 firefighters were called to a flat fire on Berger Road in Hackney.
Half of a five roomed flat on the first floor was destroyed by fire.
Two men were rescued by crews wearing breathing apparatus via an extension ladder to a first floor window. One female was also rescued by crews wearing breathing apparatus, who led her to safety via an internal staircase. There are no injuries reported.
The Brigade’s 999 Control centre received 17 calls alerting them to the fire.
The Brigade was called at 1518 and the fire was under control by 1657. Fire crews from Homerton, Shadwell, Stoke Newington, Leyton, Islington, Whitechapel and Tottenham fire stations were at the scene.
The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Brigade and the Metropolitan Police Service.
