Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters were called to a house fire on Stapleton Road in Orpington.
The electrical and gas intake in the front porch of a detached house was damaged by fire. Part of the roof space was also damaged by the blaze. There were no reports of any injuries.
The gas supply was isolated and a cordon was put in place as a precaution whilst crews made the scene safe.
The Brigade was called at 2223 and the fire was under control by 0024. Fire crews from Orpington and Sidcup fire stations attended the scene.
The fire is believed to have been accidental and caused by an electrical event in a consumer unit.
