Eight fire engines and around 60 firefighters were called to a house fire on Thorngrove Road in Upton Park.
The roof of a two storey mid-terraced house was destroyed by the fire and a significant part of the first floor was damaged. There were no reports of any injuries.
The Brigade was called at 0502 and the fire was under control by 0656. Fire crews from Stratford, Plaistow, East Ham, Leytonstone, Dagenham and surrounding fire stations were at the scene.
The cause of the fire has been recorded as undetermined.
