Eight fire engines and around 60 firefighters were called to a pub fire on Battersea Rise in Battersea.
Part of the second floor and half of the third floor of a split-level flat above the pub were damaged by fire. Part of the internal extraction system from the basement to the roof was also damaged by the blaze. There were no reports of any injuries.
There were road closures in place and we urged people to avoid the area.
The Brigade’s 999 Control Officers took 18 calls to the blaze.
The Brigade was called at 1253 and the fire was under control by 1423. Fire crews from Clapham, Wandsworth, Tooting, Brixton and Fulham fire stations attended the scene.
The Brigade's Fire Investigators believe the fire was accidental and caused by an electrical event involving the electrical cables and a fan inside the extraction system on the second floor.
