Six fire engines and around 40 firefighters dealt with a pub blaze on Ballantine Street in Wandsworth.
Part of the ground floor was damaged by fire. The basement was also flooded to a depth of around 17 inches due to a burst water main. Fire crews extinguished the fire and then pumped water out of the basement.
Thankfully there was no one sleeping in the accommodation above the pub at the time of the fire.
The Brigade was called at 0412 and the fire was under control by 0620. Fire crews from Wandsworth, Battersea, Tooting, Clapham and Fulham fire stations attended the scene. The cause of the fire is believed to be accidental.
