House fire – West Beckton

Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters were called to a house fire on Caspian Walk in West Beckton.

The ground floor of an end-of-terrace house was destroyed by fire and a small part of the first floor was also damaged by the blaze. There were no reports of any injuries.

Leading Firefighter Adam Bottomley, who was at the scene, said: “On arrival, crews were faced with fire and smoke coming out of the ground floor windows of the house.

"Crews worked quickly to bring the fire under control. Thankfully, no one was hurt.”

The Brigade was called at 0237 and the fire was under control by 0347. Fire crews from Plaistow, East Ham, Poplar and Barking fire station attended the scene.

The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Brigade and the Metropolitan Police Service.
