Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters were called to a fire at a maisonette on Clapton Square in Hackney.
Half of a maisonette on the fourth floor of a four-storey building was damaged by the fire. A man and a child left the building before the Brigade arrived. There were no reports of any injuries.
The Brigade was called at 1532 and the fire was under control by 1628. Fire crews from Homerton, Stoke Newington and Bethnal Green fire stations were at the scene.
