Fire at pub with flats above - Camberwell

Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters were called to a fire at a pub with flats above on the junction of Foxley Road and Camberwell New Road in Camberwell.

A room on the third floor of the building was destroyed by the fire. Five people left the building before the Brigade arrived. There were no reports of any injuries.

The Brigade's 999 Control Officers took 11 calls to the blaze.

The Brigade was called at 0825 and the fire was under control by 0930. Fire crews from Lambeth, Peckham and Brixton fire stations were at the scene.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
