Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters were called to a fire at a shop with flats above on Lower Clapton Road in Hackney.
Firefighters tackled a small fire on the flat roof of the building. There were no reports of any injuries.
The Brigade was called at 2028 and the fire was under control by 2055. Fire crews from Homerton, Stoke Newington and Bethnal Green fire stations attended the scene.
The cause of the fire is believed to have been accidental.
