Six fire engines and around 40 firefighters tackled a fire in a single storey out building on London Road in Croydon.
Station Commander Matt Leaver, who was at the scene said:
“When firefighters arrived they were faced with a well developed blaze and crews worked hard in difficult conditions to bring the fire under control. Two people left the building before firefighters arrived and thankfully they were uninjured.”
The Brigade was called at 2201 and the fire was under control by 2340. Fire crews from Norbury, Croydon, Woodside and Mitcham fire stations were at the scene. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
