Six fire engines and around 40 firefighters tackled a fire in Amwell Street, Islington.
The roof of a mid-terraced property was completely destroyed by fire. There were no reports of any injuries.
The Brigade was called at 1358 and the fire was under control by 1515.
Fire crews from Islington, Soho, Dowgate and Paddington stations attended the incident.
The fire was believed to be accidental but the exact cause is undetermined.
