Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters were called to a bungalow fire on Moyne Place in Park Royal.
Half of the roof of a semi-detached bungalow was damaged by fire. There were no reports of any injuries.
A London Fire Brigade spokesperson said: "The fire started in a wheelie bin at the side of the property and spread up the outside wall and through the eaves into the roof.
"Crews searched the property to make sure no one was inside and used thermal imaging cameras to check for fire spread."
The Brigade was called at 1729 and the fire was under control by 1822. Fire crews from Wembley, Park Royal, Acton and Ealing Fire Stations attended the scene.
The cause of the fire has been recorded as undetermined.
