Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters were called to a fire at a house on Alexandra Road in Walthamstow.
The ground floor of a mid-terraced house was destroyed by the fire. Two adults and six children left the building before the Brigade arrived. They were assessed on scene by London Ambulance Service crews.
The Brigade's 999 Control Officers took 10 calls to the blaze.
The Brigade was called at 1754 and the fire was under control by 1907. Fire crews from Leyton, Walthamstow, Leytonstone and Homerton fire stations were at the scene.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
