Fire at maisonette - Plaistow

Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters were called to a fire at a maisonette on Plaistow Road in Plaistow.

Part of the balcony and a small part of the living room on the second floor of a split-level maisonette were damaged by the fire. Two women were treated at the scene for smoke inhalation by London ambulance Service crews.

The Brigade was called at 1522 and the fire was under control by 1557. Fire crews from Plaistow, Poplar, Leyton and Stratford fire stations were at the scene.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
