Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters were called to a fire involving a range of sheds on Sandhurst Road in Lewisham.
A cabin, five sheds and the boundary fencing between several properties at the rear of Sandhurst Road and Glenfarg Road were destroyed by fire. There were no reports of any injuries.
Sub Officer Toby Walsh, who was at the scene, said: “Crews arrived to find several sheds fully alight in a back garden with sparks, flames and heavy smoke very visible.
“Firefighters quickly gained access and worked incredibly hard to bring the fire under control and damp down remaining hot spots. This was particularly challenging given the number of items stored inside the sheds.”
The Brigade’s 999 Control Officers took 12 calls to the blaze.
The Brigade was called at 0245 and the fire was under control by 0408. Fire crews from Lewisham, Greenwich, Eltham and Forest Hill fire stations attended the scene.
The cause of the fire is believed to have involved an electrical fault.
