Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters were called to a fire at a derelict shop with flats above on Hackney Road in Hackney.
Half of the ground floor of a three-storey building was damaged by fire. There were no reports of any injuries.
The Brigade was called at 2219 and the fire was under control by 2351. Fire crews from Shoreditch, Whitechapel, Islington and Stoke Newington fire stations were at the scene.
The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Brigade and the Metropolitan Police Service.
