Sadly a woman has died following a flat fire on Porchester Square in Bayswater.
Most of a two-roomed flat on the fourth floor of the building was damaged by fire. Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus rescued a woman from a communal hallway who was taken to hospital by London Ambulance Service crews, where she sadly later died.
The Brigade was called at 0147 and the fire was under control by 0307. Six fire engines and around 40 firefighters from Paddington, Kensington, North Kensington and Euston fire stations attended the scene.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
