Five fire engines and around 35 firefighters were called to a flat fire on Glaisher Street in Deptford.

Part of a four-roomed flat on the ground floor of the building was damaged by fire. One woman left the building before the Brigade arrived and was assessed on scene by London Ambulance Service crews. There were no reports of any injuries.

The Brigade was called at 0701 and the fire was under control by 0754. Fire crews from East Greenwich, New Cross, Greenwich and Deptford fire stations attended the scene.

The Brigade’s Fire Investigators believe the fire was caused by a fault in an electrical consumer unit.
