A man has sadly died at a flat fire on Mitchison Road in Islington.
Most of the ground floor flat was damaged by the blaze. Firefighters found a man in the property and he was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Brigade was called at 0810 and the fire was under control by 0922. Fire crews from Islington, Stoke Newington, Shoreditch and Holloway fire stations were at the scene. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
