House fire - Walthamstow

Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters were called to a fire at a house on Pendlestone Road in Walthamstow.

Half of the ground floor of a mid-terraced house was damaged by the blaze. There were no reports of any injuries.

Station Commander Andy Maloney, who was at the scene, said: "On arrival, firefighters were faced with a well developed fire on the ground floor of the property.

"They worked hard to swiftly bring the blaze under control and fortunately, there were no people involved."

The Brigade was called at 1608 and the fire was under control by 1656. Fire crews from Walthamstow, Leyton and Leytonstone fire stations were at the scene.

The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Brigade and the Metropolitan Police Service.
