Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters were called to a house fire on Sebert Road in Forest Gate.
Half of the first floor of a mid-terraced house was damaged by fire. Two men left the building before the Brigade arrived and were treated on scene by London Ambulance Service crews after suffering from smoke inhalation.
The Brigade was called at 1921 and the fire was under control by 2009. Fire crews from Leytonstone, Plaistow, Leyton and Stratford fire stations attended the scene.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
