Firefighters rescued a man from a fire at a residential care home on Eastwood Road in Goodmayes.
Firefighters tackled a small fire in a bedroom and crews wearing breathing apparatus rescued a man who was treated on scene by London Ambulance Service crews.
The Brigade was called at 2346 and the fire was under control by 0010. Three fire engines and around 15 firefighters from Ilford and Dagenham fire stations attended the scene.
The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Brigade and the Metropolitan Police Service.
