Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters were called to a house fire on Eaglesfield Road in Shooters Hill.
Most of the ground floor of a semi-detached house was damaged by fire. There were no reports of any injuries.
The Brigade was called at 0449 and the fire was under control by 0555. Fire crews from Plumstead, Eltham and East Greenwich fire stations attended the scene.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
