Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters were called to a fire at a storage yard at the rear of a shop on Romford Road in Manor Park.
A single-storey commercial refrigeration unit was destroyed by fire. One man was assessed on scene by London Ambulance Service crews.
The Brigade was called at 1604 and the fire was under control by 1725. Fire crews from Stratford, East Ham, Ilford and Leytonstone fire stations attended the scene.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
