Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters were called to a hotel fire on the High Street in Feltham.

Firefighters tackled a small fire on the fifth floor of an eight storey hotel, which caused a small amount of damage. Around 100 people left the hotel before the Brigade arrived. There were no reports of any injuries.

The Brigade's Fire Investigators believe the fire was accidental and caused by hot hair straighteners being left on laminate floor.

A London Fire Brigade spokesperson said: "Hairdryers, hair tongs and straighteners can get extremely hot, so it’s very important to remember to switch them off and leave them to cool on a heat proof surface."

The Brigade was called at 0939 and the fire was under control by 1024. Fire crews from Feltham, Twickenham and Heston fire stations attended the scene.
