Six fire engines and around 40 firefighters were called to a restaurant fire on Lower George Street in Richmond.
The whole of the extraction system from the first floor to the roof of the building was destroyed by fire. Part of the roof was also damaged by the blaze. There were no reports of any injuries.
The Brigade was called at 1524 and the fire was under control by 1825. Fire crews from Kingston, Park Royal, Hammersmith and Acton fire stations were at the scene.
The fire is believed to have been accidental and caused by radiating heat from a flue.
