Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters tackled a fire at a residential block on Oak Square in Stockwell.
Part of an electrical cable in the basement of the building was damaged by fire. Around 50 people left the building before the Brigade arrived. There were no reports of any injuries.
The Brigade’s 999 Control Officers took seven calls to the fire.
The Brigade was called at 1852 and the fire was under control by 2055. Fire crews from Brixton, Lambeth and Peckham fire stations attended the scene.
The fire is believed to have been caused by an electrical event.
