Six fire engines and around 40 firefighters were called to a flat fire on Dealtry Road in Putney.

Half of two flats on the first floor of a converted, detached house were damaged by fire. Half of the roof was also damaged by the blaze. There were no reports of any injuries.

Crews carried out salvage operations to recover items and minimise damage. One of the Brigade’s 32-metre turntable ladders was used as an observational tower to check for any remaining hotspots.

The Brigade was called at 1707 and the fire was under control by 1854. Fire crews from Wandsworth, Fulham, Edmonton, Richmond, Wimbledon and surrounding fire stations attended the scene.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
