Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters were called to a fire at a nightclub on Clapham Common South Side.
Part of the ground floor of a two-storey nightclub was damaged by fire. Around 60 people left the building before the Brigade arrived. Three men and a woman were treated on scene after suffering from smoke inhalation and a further man was taken to hospital.
The Brigade’s 999 Control Officers took 10 calls to the fire.
A London Fire Brigade spokesperson said: “On arrival crews were faced with smoke logging and a developing fire at the rear of the building.
“There were road closures in place between Clapham Park Road and Cavendish Road whilst crews worked to make the scene safe.”
The Brigade was called at 0013 and the fire was under control by 0119. Fire crews from Clapham, Brixton, Battersea and Tooting fire stations attended the scene.
The fire is believed to have been accidental and involved an indoor firework.
