Firefighters were called to a ceiling collapse at a block of flats on Avenue Crescent in Acton.
Part of the ceiling involving four square metres of plasterboard in the bedroom of a ground-floor flat collapsed. One person left the building before the Brigade arrived. Firefighters released a man who was trapped. He was taken to hospital by London Ambulance Service crews.
The Brigade was called at 2330 and the incident was over for firefighters by 0002. One fire engine from Acton Fire Station and a fire rescue unit from Battersea Fire Station attended the scene.
