Firefighters were called to concrete panels on a lorry in a precarious position on Chelsea Manor Street on the junction of King's Road in Chelsea.
Crews stabilised an articulated lorry after a 44-tonne load came loose from the cab. There were no reports of any injuries.
King's Road was partially closed whilst firefighters made the scene safe.
The Brigade was called at 1242 and the incident was over for firefighters by 1507. One fire engine from Chelsea Fire Station and a fire rescue unit from Bethnal Green Fire Station attended the scene.
