House fire - Purley

Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters were called to a fire at a house on Hartley Old Road in Purley.

Part of the fascia and soffits of a detached house were damaged by the fire as well as part of the rear garden. There were no reports of any injuries. 

The Brigade was called at 1402 and the fire was under control by 1449. Fire crews from Purley, Croydon and Norbury fire stations were at the scene.

The fire is believed to have been accidental and caused by hot works being carried out on the roof.
