Ten fire engines and around 70 firefighters were called to a fire on Hereford Road in Feltham.
Firefighters tackled a blaze involving trees, hedgerows, shrubs and decking at the rear of a row of properties on the road. A garden shed was destroyed by the fire and another 15 sheds were damaged. Several properties suffered minor damage to windows, patio doors and guttering. There were no reports of any injuries.
Crews also removed a number of cylinders which were involved in the fire as some cylinders can explode when exposed to heat.
Station Commander Tamer Ozdemir, who was at the scene, said: “Firefighters worked incredibly hard in hot, arduous conditions to stop the blaze spreading to nearby properties.
“Their hard work saved approximately 30 homes in Hereford Road.
“Around 60 residents were evacuated due to the amount of smoke.
“Our drone team was on scene assisting crews with identifying further hot spots in the surrounding woodland.”
The Brigade's 999 Control Officers took 44 calls to the blaze.
The Brigade was called at 1635 and the fire was under control by 2111. Fire crews from Hillingdon, Kingston, Southall, Surbiton, Tooting and surrounding fire stations were at the scene.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
