Ten fire engines and around 70 firefighters tackled a warehouse fire on Crabtree Manorway South in Belvedere.
Half of the ground floor and most of the roof of a two-storey industrial warehouse were damaged by fire. An internal wall between two industrial units partially collapsed. There were no reports of any injuries.
The Brigade's 999 Control Officers took 14 calls to the blaze.
Station Commander Chris Mattingley, who was at the scene, said: "The fire was producing heavy smoke which could be seen from the dual carriageway.
"One of the Brigade's 32-metre turntable ladders was used as a water tower, to get water on to the building externally from height.
"Firefighters remained on scene throughout the night."
The Brigade was called at 2023 and the fire was under control by 2321. Fire crews from Plumstead, Erith, Bexley and surrounding fire stations attended the scene.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
