Firefighters tackled a flat fire on Whitworth Road in South Norwood.
Part of a three-roomed flat on the first floor of a converted, detached house was damaged by fire. Firefighters led a man to safety. There were no reports of any injuries.
The Brigade was called at 1142 and the fire was under control by 1230. Three fire engines and around 15 firefighters from West Norwood and Orpington fire stations attended the scene.
The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Brigade and the Metropolitan Police Service.
