Eight fire engines and 60 firefighters tackled a house fire on Cumberland Road in Barnes.
Part of the ground and first floor was damaged by the blaze.
A man and a woman arrived at the property and heard a smoke alarm sounding. They called 999.
The Brigade was called at 1507 and the fire was under control by 1700. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
