Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters were called to a fire at a house in Pollard Close, Canning Town.
Part of the ground floor and some external fascia on the first floor were damaged by fire. Part of a single storey garage was also damaged. Two men left the property before the Brigade arrived.
The Brigade took 18 calls to the very visible fire.
The Brigade was called at 1014 and the fire was under control by 1116.
Fire crews from Plaistow, Poplar, East Ham and Millwall stations were at the scene.
The cause of the fire was believed to be electrical.
