A woman has sadly died following a house fire on Myrtle Road in Harold Hill.
The ground floor of a mid-terraced house was damaged by the fire. Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus sadly found the body of a woman on the ground floor.
The Brigade was called at 0122 and the fire was under control by 0202. Three fire engines and around 20 firefighters from Harold Hill, Romford and Hornchurch fire stations were at the scene.
The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Brigade and the Metropolitan Police Service.
