Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters tackled a blaze in a house in Church Road, Manor Park.
A large part of the first floor of the end of terrace house was damaged by fire. Two people left the property before the Brigade arrived.
The Brigade was called at 1347 and the fire was under control by 1445.
Fire crews from Stratford, East Ham, Ilford and Leytonstone stations attended the scene.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
