Six fire engines and around 40 firefighters tackled a fire at a range of industrial units on Bell Green Lane in Sydenham.
Part of a mid-terraced carpentry workshop in an industrial unit was damaged by fire. Seven cylinders containing gas and adhesive were cooled to an ambient temperature and removed as a precaution as some cylinders can explode when exposed to heat. There were no reports of any injuries.
The Brigade was called at 2335 and the fire was under control by 0115. Fire crews from Forest Hill, Beckenham, Lewisham, Bromley and West Norwood fire stations attended the scene.
The fire is believed to have been accidental and involved the ventilation system in the building.
