Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters tackled a fire at a student accommodation block in Holloway Road, Islington.
Part of a flat on the first floor was damaged by fire. There were no reports of any injuries.
The Brigade was called at 1854 and the fire was under control by 1944.
Fire crews from Edmonton, Walthamstow, Paddington and Leyton stations attended the blaze.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
