Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters tackled a flat fire on McMillan Street in Deptford.
A five-roomed flat under refurbishment on the first floor of a residential block was destroyed by fire. A woman left the building before the Brigade arrived. There were no reports of any injuries.
The Brigade was called at 1433 and the fire was under control by 1529. Fire crews from Deptford, Greenwich, East Greenwich and Dockhead fire stations attended the scene.
The fire is believed to have been accidental.
