Eight fire engines and around 60 firefighters were called to a grass fire near Clemence Road in Dagenham.
Firefighters tackled a fire where around five hectares of grass and shrubs were destroyed by the fire. Firefighters will remain at the scene to dampen down the area.
The Brigade was called at 1532 and the fire was under control by 1706. Fire crews from Dagenham, Barking, East Ham, Hornchurch and other surrounding fire stations attended the scene.
The cause of the fire will be investigated.
