Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters were called to a grass fire on Suttons Lane in Hornchurch.
Around two hectares of grass was destroyed by the fire. There were no reports of any injuries.
The Brigade's 999 Control Officers took 17 calls to the fire.
The Brigade was called at 1754 and the fire was under control by 1952. Fire crews from Hornchurch, Wennington, Harold Hill and Romford fire stations were at the scene.
