Six fire engines and around 40 firefighters were called to a grass fire near Rainham Road in Havering.
Firefighters tackled a fire which destroyed a large area of grassland and a smaller area of grassland nearby.
The Brigade was called at 1447 and the fire was under control by 1541. Fire crews from Dagenham, Romford, Harold Hill and other surrounding fire stations attended the scene.
The cause of the fire will be investigated.
