Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters tackled a fire in a house in Abbey Grove, Abbey Wood.
Part of a room in the rear of the mid-terraced house was damaged by fire. A man left the property before crews arrived and was treated on the scene by London Ambulance crews.
The Brigade was called at 1333 and the fire was under control by 1415. Fire crews from Plumstead, Bexley, East Greenwich and Sidcup stations attended the incident.
The fire is believed to have been accidental and involved a four way extension lead.
