House fire - Chadwell Heath

Six fire engines and around 40 firefighters have tackled a house fire on Fauna Close in Chadwell Heath.                                                                                                                                          

The first floor and roof of a semi-detached house were destroyed by the fire. There were no reports of any injuries.

Station Commander Lee Conlon, who was at the scene, said: “Crews tackled this fire in temperatures which were still incredibly high this evening.

“They worked hard to bring the fire under control and were able to stop the fire spreading to the property next door."

The Brigade was called at 2103 and the fire was under control by 2312. Fire crews from Barking, Dagenham and Romford fire stations were at the scene as well as colleagues from Essex Fire and Rescue Service.

The cause of the is under investigation by the Brigade and the Metropolitan Police Service.
