Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters were called to a fire at a house on Coronation Road in Plaistow.
The loft of a terraced house was destroyed by the fire. There were no reports of any injuries.
The Brigade was called at 1734 and the fire was under control by 1822. Fire crews from Plaistow, East Ham, Leytonstone and Leyton fire stations were at the scene.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
