Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters dealt with a maisonette fire on Maryon Grove in Charlton.
A spilt-level maisonette on the second and third floors was partly damaged by fire. A man left the property before the Brigade arrived. There were no reports of any injuries.
The Brigade was called at 0445 and the fire was under control by 0535. Fire crews from East Greenwich, Plumstead and Eltham fire stations attended the scene.
The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Brigade and the Metropolitan Police Service.
