Fifteen fire engines and around 100 firefighters were called to a warehouse fire on Freshwater Road.
Firefighters are tackled a blaze at a two-storey warehouse, around a quarter of the building was destroyed by the fire. There were no injuries reported.
There were a number of gas cylinders inside the warehouse. They were cooled to an ambient temperature as some cylinders can explode when exposed to heat.
Firefighters will remain at the scene this morning to dampen down the area.
The Brigade's Control Office received 12 calls about the fire.
The Brigade was called at 0009 and the fire was under control by 0231. Fire crews from Ilford, Romford, Hornchurch, Barking and other surrounding fire stations attended the scene.
The cause of the fire will be investigated.
